Bordighera is on the coast of the western Italian Riviera. It stands on Cape Sant'Ampelio, about twenty kilometres from the French border, at the foot of the Maritime Alps. It is about 36 kilometres from Genoa. Its outlying village of Sasso, clinging to the summit of the Bordigotta hill, is particularly charming.
When the wind is in the north (common in winter), the effect of the mountains which stand sheer above the sea makes the climate exceptionally mild during the winter months (the daytime average temperature in January is around +10°), while during the summer, fresh lively sea breezes reduce the heat, which however is rarely excessive (the daytime average for the months of July and August is about +24°).
The town was awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of its beaches in 2007. The harbour is the last mooring for holiday craft before the French border.
The splendid private "Madonna della Ruota" bay is now the location for construction of a brand new village, consisting mainly of houses with their own garden, surrounded by olive trees and right by the sea. In fact, the first row of homes is just 3 or 4 metres from the beach!!!
The village has a swimming-pool, a private beach and a natural fine sand cove ideal for small children.
The properties are built to the highest standard and are complete with every convenience. They have independent central heating and air-conditioning and some have washing-machine and/or dishwasher.
In this oasis of peace where silence and tranquillity reign, we are able to offer:
- 1-roomed flats (17 m²) right by the sea, with garden, comprising living-room sleeping 2 with kitchen area and bathroom with shower.
- 2-bedroomed flats (31 m²), with garden, comprising living-room with kitchen area and sofa bed sleeping 2, double bedroom sleeping 2 and bathroom with shower.
- 3-roomed flat (60 m²) consisting of: dining room with kitchenette and double bed settee; larger bedroom with double bed plus extra third bed; smaller bedroom with bunk beds; large bathroom with shower; solarium terrace with table and chairs, sun umbrella. All bedrooms are facing the sea.
Characteristics:
- Entirely/All flats are on the ground floor.
- Swimming pool measurements: 12 m long and 5,5 m wide; there is also a small, round, fresh water childrens' swimming pool.
- Hairdryer on request.
- All TVs have incorporated digital terrestrial channels; no satellite TV.
- At present free Wi-fi is only available in the reception area and the outside recreation centre.
- Measurements of apartments: one-roomed 17 square metres; two-roomed 31 square metres; three-roomed 60 square metres; all have small garden.
Bordighera offers visitors the most varied countryside in all of Liguria, from palm tree lined coasts to sunny vineyards and from shady olive groves to its little fishing harbour, where at dawn, one can assist the local fishermen on their return from a night's fishing.
For the more sports minded, possibilities of: tennis, sailing, wind surfing, cycling excursions on roads used by the professionals (Milan-Sanremo) and guided skin diving.

- Dolceacqua: a medieval village with its castle the 'Doria' and old humpbacked bridge, "La Michetta", a traditional cake and "Rossese", the excellent local wine;
- Seborga: old medieval village and once seat of the ancient Princedom of Seborga;
- Pigna: little Spa town, famous for it thermal baths;
- Pernaldo: with the 'G. D. Cassini' Astronomy Observatory;
- Balzi Rossi: famous pebbly beach known as "The Eggs", and the "Cromagnon Man" prehistoric museum;
- Giardini Hambury: Hambury Gardens, with a variety of various exotic plants;
- Ventimiglia Alta: just 5km, with the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta;
- Bussana: a village totally inhabited by local artists and craftsmen;
- Sanremo: 12km, with its famous Casino, Ariston Theatre, Russian church and upmarket shops;
- France: Menton (15km), Montecarlo (32km), Nice (46km), Cannes (82km), St. Tropez (160km).
